Beirut Painting Accepted into Alchemy Experiment Publication

This small gouache painting depicting a sunlit balcony in Beirut from my family’s apartment block has been accepted into the Publication for Alchemy Experiment’s CURTAINS open call!

The theme being curtains, I couldn’t help but think of Lebanon’s culture of spending time on balconies, and the curtains that accompany these spaces. The flexibility of public / private, warm / cool, and open / closed emphasises to me the connection to the rest of the city that always warmed my soul when I visited family in Lebanon in the summers.

I’m grateful to Alchemy Experiment to have included me in the Publication, and can’t wait to see its final form!
