Tote Bag Painting Workshop at an Office!

On the last day of June I hosted my largest art workshop yet, and I'm so proud it all went smoothly!

Checkout hired me to host an after-work tote bag painting workshop for up to 30 of their employees. I was flabbergasted and so excited for the opportunity. I did so much planning and prepping, and was grateful when it got pushed back a week due to the heat wave and the football screening times!

I thought through every eventually and prepared for as much as I could. When I arrived and laid of the table, it all felt so real suddenly. Once people started showing up I began talking them through the premise and process.

Everyone was so lovely! The workshop was only an hour long, but as I had nowhere to rush to quickly I was also happy to let people linger a little longer to finish their designs, which is fair enough!

One thing I didn't anticipate is how much paint would get used up! While I was aware lots would be used, there was a long tidying period where I would scoop paint that had been poured out but left untouched back into their respective pots. I didn't want to waste any paint if I could try.

All those hours of ironing the tote bags, cutting cardboard sleeves for each one, designing an info / instruction sheet, and packing everything all paid off and everyone had such lovely tote bag art by the end of it!
