Selling in Summer Markets
Share
It’s been quite the heat wave (actually multiple heat waves!) in London this summer so far. I’ve been out and about selling in markets come rain or shine, and there’s been lots of shine!
So far I’ve been selling Portobello Road, London Bridge, West Ruislip, and Kings Cross. It’s been a blast!
It’s always so enjoyable to chat with the other vendors and learn their inspirations / techniques. Speaking with customers also yields some amazing conversations! I talked at length with a chef who wanted to paint more food-related scenes and enjoyed my focus of capturing people connecting over shared meals in my paintings. It got me even more fired up to paint more food!
I’ve recently upgarded my market stall arrangement, with a little bit more symmetry at play now. The best and biggest upgrade came today and is yet to be implemented: a new carrying case for my market products!!!
My back and right arm have been starting to ache from putting my heavy backpack on and off while travelling to markets, and recently I’ve also had to carry extra bags because it won’t fit in my usual suitcase backpack.
The upgrade to a wheelie suitcase will come with it’s annoyances (stairs and cobblestones), but I’m going to be grateful for the majority of my trips, I know it!
