'Balcony Curtains (Breakfast in Beirut)' Gouache Painting (Framed)

This original framed gouache painting depicts a scene from my teta's flat in Beirut, Lebanon. The viewer looks down a darkened corridor and at the end of the hallway a glass door is open and a brightly lit balcony space is awaiting us. The table is bright and yellow, and the characteristic stripey orange balcony curtains of Lebanon are pulled back to show the hazy outlines of tall buildings in the distance. I painted this during the winter when I was aching for the sunshine and family. Framed.
