'Coffee Beans & Capules' Framed Painting

Framed and ready to hang using local framers in Kentish Town.

This original framed oil painting takes a little explaining. While I wanted to simply capture the layers of detail through the glass of the jar, the subject matter has a story. My boyfriend roasts coffee and we had recently visited Japan, coming back with these capsules of some keyring toys. He was looking for a way to transport just one shot's worth of coffee beans to the cafe he was working at for tasting purposes. And so, there happened to be a jar of home-roasted coffee beans with capsules of more beans stacked inside. I love the variety of translucent and clear materials in this still life, and was pleased with this oil painting.
