'Pandemic Picnic' Framed Painting

Framed and ready to hang using local framers in Kentish Town.

This original framed gouache painting is important to me as it was the first to set the ball rolling on my exploration of human connection over food. This was painted based on a photo taken during the pandemic, where my boyfriend and I had to isolate moreso than the average person due to health concerns. The only safe way to go outdoors was to escape out of our skylights with a picnic blanket and two mugs of tea, and sit on our flat rooftop for short periods of time. It was a beautiful summer that we felt cut off from, but this moment, connecting over these two small objects of warmth and care, felt like a moment of bliss amidst the stress of that time period.
