'Spiralling Together' Oil Painting

The spiral stairs down to the train platforms at Camden Town Underground station are viewed from above, seen from the perspective of one of the many descending down. In front the tiles shine bright, and the bright yellow hazard paint on the edges of the stairs emphasise the circling endlessness of the stairway. The focus on public spaces, especially one of public transportation, gives us a chance to pause and linger on the thought that all these people are sharing the space and going about their own unique lives with destinations and deadlines and meetings to get to. There is energy in the moment but a sense of pause and contentment in the sparkling quality of the light shining in front. Unframed.
